ΒΡΑΒΕΙΟ ΕΘΕΛΟΝΤΙΣΜΟΥ ΣΤΟΝ ΟΜΙΛΟ ΠΟΔΗΛΑΤΟΚΙΝΗΣΗ
Σε τελετή που έγινε στη Δημοσιογραφική Εστία την Τρίτη 2 Ιουνίου ο ΟΜΙΛΟΣ ΠΟΔΗΛΑΤΟΚΙΝΗΣΗ για ακόμη μια φορά έτυχε αναγνώρισης και εκτίμησης για την πολύπλευρη προσφορά του.
Το Κίνημα Οικολόγων Περιβαλλοντιστών απένειμε στη ΠΟΔΗΛΑΤΟΚΙΝΗΣΗ το βραβείο Εθελοντισμού «Ρένας Κυριάκου». Το βραβείο αυτό απονέμεται κάθε χρόνο σε άτομα ή οργανισμούς που διακρίθηκαν στον τομέα της εθελοντικής δράσης και προσφοράς σε τομείς κοινωνικής σημασίας.
PODILATOKINISI RECEIVES VOLUNTEER AWARD FROM THE CYPRUS GREEN PARTY
NICOSIA, CYPRUS – 3 June 2009 – Podilatokinisi, an organisation devoted to the promotion of bicycling and the country’s largest cycling association, today announced its receipt of the “Rena Kyriakou Volunteer Award” at an event hosted by the Cyprus Green Party at the Press Lounge on Tuesday, 2 June. Podilatokinisi founder and President Andy Hadjivasiliou was given the award in recognition of his significant contribution to volunteer social work in Cyprus.
“We have been a non-profit organisation since our inception in 1991”, Mr. Hadjivasiliou said. “Our membership, currently more than 250 persons, is driven by a love of cycling and the hope that more and more Cypriots join Podilatokinisi to derive the health benefits and sheer joy that cycling provides. We are delighted to have been recognized by the Cyprus Green Party, which shares many of our goals for the future of bicycle use in Cyprus”.
